Simon Emmerson qualified as a solicitor in 1996 and is the firm’s managing director. Emmerson Law opened for business on 4 January 2010.
Simon has previously been a partner in three of England’s leading law firms (Laytons 2001-2004, Penningtons Solicitors LLP from 2004-2008 and Manches LLP from February 2008-December 2009).
Simon has substantial experience of the full spectrum of commercial and regulatory legal challenges faced by businesses. He has represented listed companies, SMEs and owner managed businesses across a broad range of sectors. These include energy, electronics manufacturing, property development, waste management, outsourcing, software development and motorsport.
Simon is a member of the Technology and Construction Solicitors’ Association (“TeCSA”) (http://www.tecsa.org.uk).
Most of Simon’s work results in settlement on confidential terms without the need for court proceedings. He also has extensive case and trial management experience in the High Court/Technology & Construction Court (including one trial which settled after 44 days), County Court, Magistrates’ Court and hearings before regulators.
Away from the office, Simon’s passions are competing in single seater motor races, long distance running and triathlon. He lives with his family in North Oxfordshire.
